the case of the missing fishies and dead winnie

I woke up this morning and I saw Winnie floating... she is (gasp) dead. Winnie is one of my platys. I called her Winnie because she used to have a big tummy when she was little. She would eat up all the fish flakes that she can see. It was a sad moment, while Steve puts her in the net and finally bury her along the recesses of flush kingdom....

There were missing fishies, yes. How did they get out? "I don't think they never got out, they were eaten alive",said Inspector Steve. "One or all of your fishes ate the 2 platys missing."

Winnie was brave enough to fight, she was left bruised and battered,
she was about to be eaten when the human turned on the light,
the other fishes didn't have time to eat Winnie.

The likely suspects:

1. Betta girl fishie - has a mean breed, kicked out Tanya (another female betta) out of the 10-gallon tank and into the 5-gallon so she can be chief fishie.
2. Twin Tetras - one of them has an aggressive streak and seems to always chase the other tetra.
3. Cat fishies both hiding and lurking and waiting for food to go down.

Oh, the humanity! Or, the "fishieshity"....

It was a sad day here in Euler hall
... for about 5 to 10 minutes.
