Here's a picture of the 1975 Karpov - Korchnoi Candidates match held in Moscow. Anatoly Karpov (standing by the pillar) beat Victor Korchnoi (sitting) +3 -2 =19. On April 24, 1975 Anatoly Karpov was formally crowned the 12th World Champion when Robert Fischer declined to defend his title.
